National Processing is proud to announce their support and sponsor of Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.) and their efforts to stop and prevent future child sex trafficking and slavery.
O.U.R. was founded in December of 2013 by Tim Ballard. Ballard worked as a Special Agent for the Department of Homeland Security and Homeland Security Investigations. While he was working for the government, he worked on the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, as well as an undercover agent for the U.S. Child Sex Tourism Jump Team. His team began missions to go to foreign countries throughout Latin-America and find Americans that were selling humans for trafficking.
With very little information given to them, they weren’t sure where to start. Tim Ballard began reading books about slavery and historical records; from research, tactical efforts and experience they were able to find success. Those experiences and his work gave Tim Ballard the idea and drive to create Operation Underground Railroad.
The O.U.R. has led many operations to save children in human and sex trafficking, as well as slavery situations. Working with law enforcement in the area, they work to arrest, investigate and prosecute those that further the slavery or trafficking of children. Once children have been rescued, they also work to rehabilitate and help victims recover.
In 2019 over 3,000 people were saved from human trafficking. O.U.R. also helped empower law enforcement in 25 states. Ballard was also appointed to the White House Public-Private Partnership Advisory Council to End Human Trafficking that same year.
The efforts of the O.U.R. coincide with the moral compass of National Processing. We believe in treating all people with respect and equity. National Processing takes a stance against abuse to women and is working to change the devastating effects human trafficking has on girls and society.
Our hope is to ensure everyone is treated fairly and equally through hard work and the dedication of every human being. A majority of our company donates to charities on a regular basis. This is our way of making the world a better place for our children and continuing generations.
