Don’t Forget About Loyalty ProgramsIf you’re running some kind of retail business, then you know that customer retention is an important factor. When you have a loyal customer that keeps coming back, that also means potentially more shoppers as a result of that customer who is giving your business positive recommendations to friends and family. A happy, returning customer is very good for your business.

That’s why it’s important consider ways to foster and encourage that returning customer mindset, and one of the simplest ways to do this is with some kind loyalty program that rewards regular shopping with even more incentives to come back for more.

It Doesn’t Have To Be Elaborate

Even if you run a smaller business or shop, you don’t have to worry about needing a big budget to execute a top-tier loyalty rewards program with points, prizes and other incentives. Regardless of the final concept you decide to go with, as long as the basic idea is sound—that is, giving something back to the customer to make want to come back—it doesn’t have to be a big production number.

One of the simplest loyalty reward programs to implement, especially for retail businesses that sell a lot of smaller products, is a card that keeps track of purchases. Once a set limit has been hit, such as five, 10 or 15 purchases, the shopper receives a free product as a reward.

Another easy way to implement a loyalty reward system is specific discounts for members that decide to sign up for a program. You can give out a constant, small discount, or even have specific appreciation days where loyalty members enjoy special sale prices or free gifts.

Any of these ideas are easy to implement, and make for a happier customer that is more likely to come back. Try to research more ideas to see which ones will your customers returning for more.
