When To Make The Change To Another ProcessorYour payment processor is like your ally in business. Without them, you wouldn't be able to accept credit and debit card payments, something that eliminates a huge percentage of your income and sales potential. But there are numerous payment processors out there, and it's important that periodically you review your current situation. Sometimes, making the change to another processor could be in your best interests.

At National Processing, we pride ourselves on customer service and low rates. But we think that any business owner or manager should take the time to consider their processor service and determine whether or not the time is right for a change. It can be difficult to know for sure, but a few things can help. First, if your contract with a payment processor has expired or is about to expire, the time is perfect to review your situation and determine if you should switch. Those who aren't locked into contracts can do so whenever they like, and it's a good idea to review your situation at least once per year. Here are a few signs to look for: • Are you able to accept all the major card? Some processors only allow you to accept MasterCard and Visa. But if you can't accept Discover and American Express, you're eliminating sales and customers from your reach. • Take a look at your rates, and look carefully. Pay attention to your per-transaction fees and your monthly fees. Once you know what they are, compare them to other options that are out there to find the absolute lowest rates for you. • What about the level of customer service you're currently receiving? Is it really up to par, or could it be better? Think about whether or not you're really getting the kind of service you deserve. If you're not, it may be worth switching. • Are you able to utilize all of the latest technologies and tools? You want a company that can offer you all the latest advances. • Finally, is there any other aspect of your payment processing service that you're just not satisfied with? You're doing business with them daily, and they're a major part of your operation. As such, you'll want to make sure that you are completely satisfied with what they offer. If you find that any of these areas are lacking with your current payment processor, it may be time to make a switch. Finding the best option is easier than you may think.
